...about retreats

A retreat with Yalda is an invitation to travel within, to discover the beautiful compexity of your body and the power of your breath. Through gentle but demanding poses, you will be guided, with very specific and often poetic explanations, to bring your focus deeper within. A meditation through movement, chanting and breathing.
— S.V., Amman

Yalda is very generous with her time with us. The way she explained all aspects of the practice spiritual, physical, neurological and psychological just shows the amount of study she put into creating her own special way.
You really feel that she is taking care of every single person in the practice yet you feel this group unity which is incomparable with any other practice experience I have ever had.
— R.H., Geneva

Every moment of the retreat was part of the healing process: the practice, the laughter, the crying, the singing, the chanting and humming, the group conversations and of course the breaaathing…
Also, Yalda’s dedication to the practice, generously wanting to teach everything that she knows is just so inspiring. Last, the beautiful group energy and positive vibes were just awesome.

Sometimes it seems as if yoga is a sheer promise. A promise unconsciously leaning on external fits and expectations of the particular time and place. And then one stumbles, packed with these expectations into Yalda's session and is pushed back in the most simple and concentrated way imaginable. Pushed back into oneself - into a place of physical and psychological coherence. Like a vessel of safety.
— D.K., Berlin

She has awakened muscles I wasn’t even aware of and helped me reconnect my mind and body on a much deeper level. And the cherry on top were the beautiful souls on that retreat. Yalda tends to attract the funniest, quirkiest, most special human beings out there. A melting pot of different nationalities and backgrounds from all around the globe.
I so look forward to the next retreat.
— Y.O., Accra

The retreat was great for me, the pace was intense but transforming. Physically, I feel so much stronger today, even after days of barely moving.
It was both intellectually and physically demanding. If i were to sum it up in one word: "psoassy", in the best sense of the word.

— J.K., Beirut

Going to Yalda’s retreat is the best thing I’ve done to take care of myself in the last two and a half years. I was hesitant for a bunch of reasons, commitments, money, life uncertainty, being mentally and energetically at the lowest point.  And then I finally decided that I really needed this and that I owed it to myself, to my body and to my spirit. And I’m so glad I took that decision!
The retreat was incredibly healing and Yalda is a wonderful teacher.  She helped me get back to my breath and to myself, to sit with my aches and pains and feelings, breathe into them and through them. She dedicated so much time and effort to craft a wonderful retreat, with an incredibly joyful group in a breathtaking setting, and taught us fascinating classes, exploring all the elements, holding space for everyone and following each one of us individually.
Yalda’s knowledge of the discipline of yoga, in its entirety, and her embodiment of this knowledge is beautiful to witness, and it was a blessing to be able to receive some of it. Yalda guided me into listening to my body, discovering misalignments I wasn’t aware of but I could feel the pain of, and helped set me on the conscious journey of putting things back into place.
— C, Palermo

Imagine everything you expect from a yoga retreat and now add to it a total reboot of your nervous system, a flow of energy and dynamism, all with uplifting and mind opening conversations with a diverse bunch of super women!
It was a great mid year assessment time both physically, mentally and emotionally.
A much needed regeneration!

— C.F., Paris

The retreat with Yalda was more beautiful than I could have imagined. From a chance to figuratively catch my breath away from the swirl of daily life, to an opportunity to do focused work on on my litteral breath, as well as on my alignment and movement, to a series of inspiring meditation practices and shared company with other playful seekers, it was a truly healing and joyful experience.

... about regular classes

Yalda provides you with the tools for self-practice, as opposed to building dependence.
— D.A., Geneva

Yalda’s classes are diverse, multilayered, detail-oriented, informative and definitely challenging.
— C.D., Beirut

Yalda’s teachings set the groundwork for pretty much everything else in life. Her classes changed my life and it is not an exaggeration. I had been spending some time working with somatic practices and release techniques in dance, and her classes allowed me to connect the dots between these dissociated bodies of knowledge. Also huge eye opener on posture and how to find the right alignment from within rather than using an "external" approach like a mirror.
— K.B., Amsterdam

Yalda’s classes offered me a better understanding of the body’s structure and integrity.
—H.W., Berlin

I liked that the explanations where physical and not spiritual, while I learned a lot about time, space and acceptance of conditions through the physical work itself.
— S.S., Berlin

She builds a safe space, even behind the screen.
— L.A., Beirut

I like that she brings in insights and exercises from various approaches. These shifts of perspective allow us to bettter understand our practice, making the classes more contemporary, creative and fresh, while staying authentic to the principles of yoga.
— F.K., Toulouse

Yalda’s classes are a beautiful journey in one's body. She helped me understand how my body, my organs, my breath, my bone structure work, and was very helpful in correcting my posture and other mishaps I have had in my life (one of the most important ones would be the ulcerative recto-colitis and shoulder caspulitis).
— Y.K., Beirut

In her classes, there is no competition. It is a wonderful journey of bodily discovery that involves the little fundamental things. Instead of defying your body, you to you find yourself pushing your limits with mindfulness and care. Discovering your potential becomes an enjoyable experience instead of a frustrating one.

— N.B., Beirut

Even in the context of a group class, it feels like a private session because the attention to every move and every person is so detailed. It’s a class where you learn constantly about the body, about yourself, and understand the power of the mind and body in healing. The awareness you gain is something you can’t forget, which gives you the tools for everything.
— C.F., Paris

Yalda’s online classes are amazing. She is precise, observes, corrects and guides extremely accurately.
— Y.H., Paris

Having back injuries, Yalda’s classes helped me tremendously in feeling no pain and gaining strength over time. I completely trusted her feedback, I also better understood my body and how to deal with it.
— S.M., Erbil

A space to discover your body, how all the parts are interlinked, and to reconnect with your breath and use it as a tool to release tensions. Yalda’s classes also gave me a space to let go of emotional pain, grief and sorrow.
— S.V., Toulouse

My exhale almost tripled in length by the end of the two years of regular practice. I also have not had lower back pain in 2 years, which before was a daily issue. I learned to get in touch with subtle body parts, in face of physical or emotional discomfort, and to disconnect and prioritize my health over other commitments (so many times I stopped in the middle of a panicked deadline to go back home and attend the class.) I found the breathe/hold technique so useful for calming me down on airplanes and i always use it during take-off/landing, and especially turbulence. This is how I have gained more connections between my body and mind, and for all of this I am forever grateful.
— I.D., Den Haag

Yalda’s teaching is stripped away from the new age nonsense, focusing on helping the student improve themselves by working from where they’re at, rather than push them to execute postures they are not ready for. Her poetic descriptions help us visualize a movement or adjust a posture. She is patient, dynamic, and with not strict preplanning, flexible enough to adjust her teachings during class to adapt to everyone’s needs.

She introduced me to how the body functions, which is something all doctors I’ve been to have failed to mention or explain. She also made me become aware of my tense stomach, which I later mentionned to my massage therapist and through that, explored the history of trauma and its effects on my body.
— L.J., Qatar

I have never learned and healed so much from yoga in 20 years as in these four sessions with Yalda, and with so much love and skill!
— M.K., Berlin
